Safety Standards for Indoor Play Structure

Indoor play structure manufacturers have to comply with many safety standards.

In the United States alone, about 200,000 children are injured on play structures each year. However, we believe that injuries can be prevented, and we are committed to helping our clients create safe play spaces for children.

We work with each client to ensure that the safety standards specific to their country, state, and municipality are met so that they can open their doors confidently and safely.

Indoor play structures can be a fun and safe place for children to play, but only if it is properly maintained and installed.

The following are safety standards that Dreamland indoor playground follows:

(1) ASTM Standard (North America):

ASTM F1918 is a set of industry standards for indoor playgrounds in North America. ASTM stands for "American Society for Testing and Materials." This standard is for the performance, construction, testing, and use of materials in play structures.
The American Society developed it for Testing & Materials to ensure that all products made from these materials are as safe as possible for children and adults.
It is the standard by which Dreamland Playground complies with all necessary safety and performance regulations, ensuring that every play structure we create meets or exceeds the highest standards in the industry.

(2) EN 1176 (Europe):

EN 1176 is the European standard that describes the general safety requirements for playground equipment and surfacing. It was created by CEN, which is a European trade association that develops voluntary standards for a wide range of products, including playgrounds. EN 1176 was designed to improve product safety and encourage manufacturers to meet specific minimum standards for quality.
Dreamland Playground meets EN1176 safety standards to improve the safety of children, keeping them from injury and making them more comfortable.

(3) ISO (Worldwide):

ISO certification is a voluntary process in which A third-party auditor evaluates Dreamland Playground to determine whether the company conforms to a set of standards. The certification confirms to customers, suppliers, employees, and other stakeholders that the company's equipment and processes meet rigorous quality standards.

(4) UL 94 (North America):

UL 94 is a series of tests carried out to evaluate the flammability of polymeric materials.
The materials used in indoor playgrounds must be fire retardant. This means they will not easily catch on fire and will not cause a fire hazard.
Underwriters Laboratories (UL) developed the UL 94 rating system for determining the flammability risk of plastic materials used in appliances and devices, including indoor play structures.
The most common UL 94 ratings that pertain to our products are V-2, V-1, and HB. These ratings mean that the material has passed the UL 94 flammability tests for V-2, V-1, and HB.
All Dreamland products are made from fire-retardant materials mandated by North America.
